# Durable disks

## Create a disk

```bash
klio disk create cache --size 50Gi
klio disk list
```

A durable disk is fixed-size block storage on local SSD, for work that needs a fast filesystem rather than shared files; for files that many containers read, use a [volume](https://klio.tech/docs/volumes.md).

## Mount it

```python
from klio_compute import DurableDisk, function

cache = DurableDisk(name="cache", size="50Gi", mount_path="/cache")

@function(disks=[cache])
def warm():
    ...
```

The disk is mounted at `mount_path` and keeps its data between runs.
