In short
Replicate: A platform for running public machine-learning models by API and deploying your own models packaged with Cog.
Klio Compute: serverless GPUs for Python. Run a function on a GPU with one decorator, deploy endpoints, task queues, schedules and sandboxes, or put an open model behind an OpenAI-compatible API, and pay per second from prepaid credit.
Where Replicate is the better choice
- A large catalog of public models you can call by API without deploying anything, billed only for the time each request takes.
- Packaging your own model with Cog, its open-source tool.
- Listed prices for up to 8 H100, A100 or L40S GPUs per instance.
Where Klio Compute differs
- Klio Compute runs your own Python functions, endpoints, queues, schedules and sandboxes, not a catalog of hosted models.
klio model deployputs an open model behind an OpenAI-compatible API on your own address in one command.- Prepaid credit: work stops at zero instead of running up an invoice, and a monthly purchase limit caps what can be spent.
- Modal code runs with one changed import line, and
klio migrate --checkreports what works before you change anything.

| Serverless GPU functions or containers | Yes. Functions, endpoints, task queues and schedules on a GPU from one decorator. (docs) | Yes. (source) |
| Scale to zero | Yes. Endpoints and models stop when idle and start on the next request. (docs) | Yes. Deployments can scale to zero. (source) |
| Billing per second or finer | Yes. Metered per second. (docs) | Yes. Listed per second. (source) |
| Several GPUs in one container | Yes. 1, 2, 4 or 8 GPUs of one type; more than one needs a paid workspace. (docs) | Yes. 2x listed; 4x and 8x marked as capacity under committed-spend contracts. (source) |

| OpenAI-compatible model serving | Yes. klio model deploy, for the models klio model list shows. (docs) | Not verified. |
| Runs Modal code with an import change | Yes. import klio_compute.compat as modal; a few features are refused with a clear message. (docs) | No. Its own API, and Cog for packaging models. (source) |
| Prepaid credit | Yes. Top up, set a monthly purchase limit; work stops at zero. (docs) | Partly. Some accounts are billed via prepaid credit. (source) |
GPU prices per hour
Public list prices verified 8 November 2026 from Replicate's pricing page. Klio Compute's prices are live, checked Nov 8, 08:50 UTC. GPU prices follow the market and are checked every few minutes. A running container keeps the price it started at.
| GPU | Klio Compute | Replicate |

| H100 80 GB | Not available right now | $5.49/h — Listed as Nvidia H100 GPU, $0.001525/s. (source) |
| A100 80 GB | $2.49/h | $5.04/h — Listed as Nvidia A100 (80GB) GPU, $0.0014/s. (source) |
| L40S 48 GB | Not available right now | $3.51/h — Listed as Nvidia L40S GPU, $0.000975/s. (source) |
| A10 24 GB | $1.95/h | — — Not on Replicate's hardware list; the smallest GPU listed is a T4. (source) |
| L4 24 GB | $1.45/h | — — Not on Replicate's hardware list. (source) |
Replicate lists a price per second for each hardware type, which comes with a fixed CPU and RAM allocation. Private models on dedicated hardware are billed for setup and idle time as well as for requests.
Prices change; check Replicate's page before deciding. GPU price only, per GPU-hour; CPU, memory, storage and network may be billed separately, and discounts and committed-use prices aren't shown.
